We jumped through hoops to get the `03 into the store and we are pleased
to say that the new release is another gem!
A big, dense and powerful
Cabernet made by
Lisa Drinkward,
vineyard manager at Erna
Schein (formerly Behrens & Hitchcock) and Francoise Peschon,
winemaker at Araujo Estate.
A
big, dense and powerful Cabernet that is full of intense black currant
fruit and black plum, with a hint of dusty cocoa, Spring flowers, spice
box, and well balanced French oak. This
`05 needs a little time in the decanter to open up and show its wonderful
complexity, the “polished style” that Drinkward Peschon is well know
for. This shows a long, rich
finish with a firm core of black fruit
and
silky,
ripe tannins. 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6%
Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot.
This will develop into one beautiful Cabernet in the cellar over
the next 5-20 years.
