ICEWINES
Another category gaining popularity as wine lovers explore what the wide world of wine has to offer.  Dessert wine made from grapes frozen on the vine, which keeps all the flavor and acidity but removes much of the grape's water in the form of ice.  The result?  Nectar of the Gods!

Magnotta Icewine 2006 Lake Erie North Shore Vidal -- $24.99

Delicious flavors of apple, pear, orange and peach with notes of roasted nuts and cream.

Sweet, aromatic and rich. Vidal is a French hybrid grape of seyval blanc + ugni blanc, perfectly suited to icewine because of its thick skins and its slow, steady ripening.

KIONA 2006 Yakima Valley Ice Wine -- $24.99

Viscous, rich, decadent blend of Riesling and Chenin Blanc giving peach and apricot with notes of spice and sweet cream all completed with a fresh finish of balanced acidity.

Serve chilled with fruit and ice cream of simply as dessert by itself.

Off-The-Beaten Path

Alcyone Tannat Dessert Wine Atlantida, Uruguay -- $24.99

Rich and creamy with flavors of marshmallow, vanilla bean, crème brulee and milk

chocolate. This is an outstanding dessert wine made from the Tannat grape, which was

taken to Uruguay by Basque, Spanish settlers in the 19th century. It tastes a bit like a

flavored liqueur. Delicious as an after-dinner sipper.
