from Soda Canyon just south of Stag's Leap District. Charles met me
at the gate of their property and gave us a detailed tour of their
property, 16-acre vineyard, and home to their soon to be constructed

winemaker Philippe Melka does it again with a superb expression of great
Napa Valley Cabernet. 90% Cabernet Sauvigon, 10% Petit Verdot aged
in 100% new Taransaud French Oak for 21 months, bottled unfined and
unfiltered. 750 cases produced.
Intense,
rich, and powerful, this youthful Cabernet expresses ripe black currant - mountain
berry fruit, mocha, baking spice, with hints of loam and
minerals true to Soda Canyon. Beautifully balanced with loads of structure, incredible
purity and depth, and ripe, powerful tannins.
