Alban Vineyards 2004 Roussanne Edna Valley

John Alban is one of the most sought after Rhone Rangers making some of the best scoring Syrahs and Grenaches.  This small production Roussane is a great alternative to Chardonnay.  Full-bodied yet elegant with rich notes of honeysuckle-like fruit with green melon and honeydew.  Fabulous food wine.  Only 600 cases made.

Failla Estate Viognier

This was THE white wine of a recent big trade tasting in LA.  Balanced, complex, full of white peach, lychee, stone fruit and mineral with a rich mouthfeel.  This is NOT a flamboyant, sweet style Viognier, but rather a reserved, layered version that will be great by itself or paired with grilled fish.  Fantastic!  Made by Ehren Jordon and Anne Marie Failla (one of my Favorite Pinot producers) off of John Alban’s Vineyard.
